OBI con Essbase errore Cannot function ship the following expression: AggrExternal

Using Essbase at data source for OBI and applying in Answer a function on a dimension member name (like REPLACE or SUBSTRING function) you probably obtain the error message:

“State: HY000. Code: 10058. [NQODBC] [SQL_STATE: HY000] [nQSError: 10058] A general error has occurred. [nQSError: 43113] Message returned from OBIS. [nQSError: 42015] Cannot function ship the following expression: AggrExternal(measure by [ Misura || ‘TestString’] ). (HY000)”

To solve this simply edit the RPD and modify default aggregation rule from AggrExternal to Sum:

I preferred modify aggregation role at Business Model level, but you can modify the rule also at Physical Level.

After this we can apply all formulas to Oracle BI reports.
