OBIEE: How to enable Maintenance Mode
If you enable Maintenance Mode, OBIEE users will not able to save changes in presentation catalog. With this option enabled the presentation catalog goes in read-only mode. This will make sure that webcat is consistent and no one is making changes to reports or saving new ones while you do your maintenance activities. Use Maintenance Mode to update, migrate reports or take backups on an online presentation catalog. In 11.1 release Essbase allows 2 kinds of data clearance from an ASO cube: Logical Delete: Essbase automatically creates another slice of data with an exact negative of the actual data in the region. So, when end users query from the region, they would in effect be getting zeroes for all intersecting cells in the region. How to use Essbase substitution variables in Smart View
In a spreadsheet you can refer to a member name with a Substitution Variable simply adding an ampersand before the variable name, directly in the Excel worksheet. For example if you have the current month name stored in the “CurrentMonth” variable, you can directly replace the member name in the worksheet with &CurrentMonth: After refreshing worksheet the CurrentMonth variable will be replaced with the member name.
